Balance Method Logic

Look, here's the deal: in the Dr. Tan Balance Method, the Gallbladder channel is a powerhouse for balancing the San Jiao, Heart, and Liver channels. We use the holographic image to project the leg onto the arm (and vice versa) to get those instant results your patients are looking for. Forget classical GB-34; we're working the systems.

Balance Method Dr. Tan’s GB-34 Protocol

Here's how you get it right every single time.

Location

Find the lateral side of the lower leg. Look for the tendon just below the fibular head, needle in the tendon.

Which Side

For Systems 1, 3, and 5, use the opposite side of the pain. For Systems 2, 4, and 6, you can use either side.

Depth (ASS)

Match the depth to where the pain is. If it's superficial tendon pain, stay shallow. If it's deeper, go deeper.

Retention

Always leave the needles for 45 minutes.

Immediate Check

Ask the patient to move the affected area (knee or elbow) immediately after insertion. No change? You're at the wrong depth or the wrong system.

What You'll See

  • Immediate Results: Patients should feel a "lightness" or a 20-50% reduction in pain immediately upon movement.

  • 1-3 Sessions: Necessary for the worst acute pain to stabilize.

  • 4-7 Sessions: The sweet spot for total pain resolution.

Watch Out For (FAQ)

  • "Why are you needling my leg for my elbow?" Explain that you're using a "mirror" system to switch off the pain signals—it's like flipping a light switch in a different room.

  • Common Mistake: Not hitting the tendon if needed. You need to feel that "tug" or resistance. If you're just in the muscle, you aren't maximizing the point's potential.
